Biography
Rachel has always been passionate about helping people to unlock their personal and professional potential.
Teaching: Rachel originally trained as an English and Drama teacher, working with students to ‘A’ Level in England. Further promotion didn’t appeal because it meant her time in the classroom would have been dramatically cut. A love of travel enticed her to resign from her teaching post and relocate to Spain where she taught English to Senior Executives, company directors and business professionals.
Complementary Healthcare: Rachel’s other passion was ignited as a result of using aromatherapy, homeopathy and yoga to help her combat nerves and stress before exams. The benefits were a revelation and from then on she began to develop her knowledge and understanding of the mind-body connection. On returning to the UK, she moved to London, first undertaking advanced training in Aromatherapy, then Reiki, the Emotional Freedom Technique and the Mind Detox Method. Rachel established her own successful holistic practice specialising in: depression, bereavement, trauma, chronic pain, stress, emotional issues and injuries.
Coaching and Mentoring: Further specialist training in Management Coaching and Mentoring was a natural progression in helping people to achieve their potential and further refined her expertise. These combined experiences give Rachel a unique understanding of the power of our mind and emotions to affect our health and our ability to perform at the highest level possible, which she applies to this day.
First Potential: Rachel established First Potential because it encapsulates her passion and belief in the potential that we all have. Bringing together many of her skill sets, training and experience under one umbrella she focuses on Performance in Business and Sport.
Joie de Vivre: Her adventurous spirit has taken her around the world, including working in California, Australia and Spain. Some of her highlights include embracing new cultures, learning to sail in Greece, trekking in jungles, climbing Mayan pyramids, globe-trotting on crutches, team-chasing and racing water-buffalo. She is based in Edinburgh, loves dogs, dancing and the countryside.
